  i've been inactive for about 6 years and glad i'm out.. i'm in my late 40's.

  so about 2 years ago, i go on facebook and looked up this brother i use to like when i was in my 20's he was a bethelite.

In some areas you are considered "married" if you are living together as husband & wife. Please find out so that you don't end up financially responsible for this person when it's finally over.   Thinking of becoming a JW.

  hi,.

  i am new to here so please be bear with me.. i have always believed in god, but was never baptised, my parents wanted me to make up my own mind religon wise.. i am thinking of becoming a jw and am just needing some advice on how to do this, bible study and jw beliefs.

  also do jw say grace and how.. i am greatful of any help.. thanks.

  Welcome Kate. So glad that you have come to the forum before committing yourself to this high control religion. As others have asked, why do you want to become a part of this particular religion? I spent 48 years in this religion and when I decided it was not the "Truth" I left. The friends I had known my whole life were now shunning me as were my own 2 adult children. Please research outside of the sugar-coated version of the religion that the JW's would like you to believe. You will save yourself years of frustration and emotional devastation. Leslie

  hello, i've been lurking in this forums for a while but its only now that i've created an account.

  i'm an inactive jw, been in and out sporidically these past few years, but its only these recent months after reading crisis of conscience and christian freedom that i think i will never go back there again.. the reason i've been inactive primarily is because i have issues regarding masturbation and porn.

  my conscience cannot allow to continue preaching while i continously being overcome by these habits myself.

  Welcome Kassad84. The above posters have given good advice. You are not alone and we will not judge you as the Wt. would. There is no need to feel guilty about something the Bible does not condemn. As to the loneliness, there are many wonderful "worldly" moral people out here. Jgnat had some very good suggestions on where to go to make friends outside of the organization. We look forward to hearing more about you when you are ready to share. Leslie

  The Governing Body - their own worst enemy!

  i've been giving some thought recently to what's going on in the minds of the individual governing body members, and what makes them tick.

  the process of listening to their talks for my "getting to know you" youtube video series, though draining, has been very enlightening.

  i now feel i know some of their individual personalities a little better than i did previously.. then there has been the tumultuous events of 2012. it's been interesting to note the way the governing body has responded to some of these issues, and how in most cases their responses have been woefully inadequate or even counter-productive as regards their long-term interests.. for example:.

  Thank you Cedars for the excellent analysis of the GB's most recent gaffe. I agree that they are their own worst enemies. I think they have forgotten that pride comes before a crash! As the saying goes " give them enough rope and they will hang themselves ". This recent change looks like a panic-induced decision to desperately hang onto control.   a video will be posted later today where all the mysteries of god, the disgusting thing causing desolation, all the contradictions in the bible, why god in the old testament seemed so cruel, why was satan created if god is good, how is god love?

  all of the prophecies jesus had foretold which were hidden and lost yet being fullfilled the entire time.

  this is the good news that will then spread worldwide, and then the end will come.

  EOM: Haste makes waste. Take your time. It can be difficult when you are so excited about sharing the information that has obviously meant so much to you.   My brother died tonight

  just got word that my youngest brother died of pancreatic cancer.

  he was diagnosed in early august.

  this has been really tough for me and my family..

  My Near Death Experience

  hi y'all, just wanted to let you know i was out for a stroll on my bicycle for exercise last week and got hit by a car 100 yards from my house.

  it was a hit and run.

  i got up with only minor bruises but felt really dizzy and asked one of my roommates to take me to the hospital as i was dizzy and felt i was going to pass out on the spot in the middle of the street.

  (((Randy))) so glad to know that you will be okay. Your hospital experience was awful. Some people just shouldn't be in the medical profession. A smile and a few minutes to explain why they are doing whatever it is they are doing would go a long way. It's been a horrendous year for a lot of us. Thank god it's almost over.   What a lovely way to start 2013. The ever evolving control of the R&F continues to reach new lows. There must be a LOT not following orders from the GB for them to keep flogging the shunning stance so regularly. I feel pity for those of us out who are actively being shunned and pity for those who are being brain-washed into doing the unnatural. It is extremely disturbing. Hopefully this will wake some more up. -Leslie-
